Dinner: Prepare stewed vegetables – onion, carrot, cabbage and tomatoes. It’s not so principle to choose the exact vegetable you can vary with different. But choose light, not potato. Drink green or black tea with lemon or mint, you can add honey as well.

4 – Eggs and Honey Diet (weight loss about 3.5 lbs)

* First Day:

Breakfast: 2 yolks of egg mix with 1 tea spoon honey, coffee or tea without sugar, you can add lemon or mint.

Lunch: 1 yolk of egg with honey, 3 slices of cheese, drink coffee or tea without sugar, you can add lemon or mint.

Dinner: a cup of chicken broth, slice of bred, 1 yolk of egg with honey, 1 apple, tea without sugar, you can add lemon or mint.

* Second Day:

Breakfast: 2 yolks of egg mix with 1 tea spoon honey, 1 slice of bred, coffee or tea without sugar, you can add lemon or mint.

Lunch: 1 yolk of egg with honey, a piece of boiled meat about 200 gr, drink coffee or tea without sugar, you can add lemon or mint.

Dinner: a cup of chicken broth, slice of bred, 1 yolk of egg with honey, 1 apple, tea without sugar, you can add lemon or mint.

This is the time of year when thoughts turn to weight loss. The first sign of spring, the sun shines and we generally feel better. We also look at our bodies and Ugh!! – Something snaps and we fervently search for the next best thing in weight loss. Unfortunately we did this last year and quite possibly the year before as well, but now I’m going to let you into a secret.

To make your weight loss program effective you must enjoy it and it must be safe.

Now that may not sound very ground breaking but if you think about it carefully and pay particular attention to the ‘enjoy’, then this may be the defining moment you’ve been waiting for. We sweep into most diet programs full of enthusiasm which will very soon wear off, and it wears off because we don’t enjoy it. We lose interest and we don’t give it the attention span we should. We lose interest in anything we don’t enjoy. If you really think about it, I’m sure you would agree.

Throughout your weight loss program it is essential that you focus on the main reason for subjecting yourself to this change which has brought you from your winter comfort zone. The majority of people want to lose weight for cosmetic reasons. We all want to look better and the realization that the thick wooly sweater that you could fit the whole family in was really just you – Wow!

Ok, let’s be positive and look at what you can do that will achieve your goal, be enjoyable and importantly keep you safe and healthy.

Don’t try and picture yourself pounding the streets until legs go in a different direction to the body. It’s much better to spend say 30 minutes every day taking a leisurely stroll. You’re more relaxed and your body’s not under pressure but you’re exercising your legs, burning off calories and increasing your metabolism rate, in other words burning off the fat.

How about a small mini cycle? No, I don’t mean tearing down the freeway with eyes streaming and white knuckles on the handlebars. What I mean is: a home or office exercise cycle. You don’t need one with bells and whistles costing you next month’s paycheck either. As long as it’s got a seat, peddles and it’s stable on the floor you’ll do just as well. Close your eyes and picture yourself meandering down the country lanes, but don’t get carried away with your eyes shut and fall off. We’re trying to keep you safe!

If you work on the upper floors try taking the stairs instead of the elevator. What a difference that makes, but be careful not to overdo it. Try pacing yourself. Example: this week walk up 3 floors and elevator ride the rest, next week walk up 4 and ride the rest. The important thing is to arrive at your desk invigorated not a gibbering wreck fit for nothing. (Your boss won’t love me!)

Now you might be thinking you’ve got away with it, but here comes the part about food.

Don’t think that walking up the stairs to the fast food joint to collect your burgers and fries will wash with me because it won’t. You can do all the other bits but you must eat healthy. You won’t have to starve yourself but you may have to change your eating habits. There are lots of really great foods available which will aid your weight loss. Look for the packs which say ‘Low Calorie’ or ‘Use as part of a Calorie Controlled Diet’. You’ll be really amazed at the vast range of healthy appetizing meals available. The good news is: you might not have to cut out your favorite food. Now that makes you feel better, doesn’t it?

Here’s a good tip: If you’re exercising i.e., walking, home exercise cycle etc, try and keep it to a particular time of day. Exercising at the same time each day helps you to keep disciplined.

If you’re not used to exercising it’s always a good idea to have a chat with your doctor or physician, after all we want to keep you safe. Always remember why you started your weight loss program in the first place; it helps to keep you focused. But most of all: enjoy it.
